PRINCIPAL FUNCTION: The bi-vocational Worship Leader is responsible for the planning and implementation of weekly worship services. This includes music selection and the recruiting and training of volunteer singers and musicians.  More importantly, this position is responsible for leading the church into the Presence of God and preparing the congregation to hear and respond to the Word of God.  

QUALIFICATIONS:

1.  Must be a born-again believer in Jesus Christ.

2.  Must have a definite calling by God to use music as a tool in bringing people to Jesus Christ.

3.  Must have the ability to love, respect, and interact with people of all ages as a member of the church staff.

4.  Must be able to play an instrument and sing.

5.  Must be a team player and be willing to serve under the direct supervision of the Pastor.

6.  Must have a public and private lifestyle reflecting the high standards of personal holiness as set forth in the Bible.

7.  Must become a member of Gapway Baptist Church upon employment.

8.  Must successfully pass a criminal background check.

9.  Must affirm the theological beliefs of the SBC as described in the Baptist Faith and Message.

WEEKLY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.  In cooperation with the pastor, plan weekly worship services.

2.  Lead weekly full dress-rehearsal session(s) with all musicians, singers, and technical volunteers.

3.  Lead the congregational singing before the sermon and during the invitation.

4.  Attend occasional meetings as needed.

BASIC WORK SCHEDULE:

• Sunday mornings from 9am-12 noon, 6-7pm. Wednesday 6-7pm.
• At least one weekly full dress-rehearsal session with singers, musicians, and tech.  

(day and time to be determined by you)

• Be available for other meetings as needed.
• Be available for special events.

Initial salary TBD + rent free 4 BDR, 2BTH home newly renovated).
